外表不漂亮

很多人养狗，都喜欢饲养外表没有攻击性，比较漂亮好看的狗狗，而下司犬的外表根本达不到多数人的审美。因为下司犬长得比较粗糙，脸和嘴上都有硬毛直立，如钢针般，令人生畏，所以很多人觉得带出去不能满足他们的虚荣心，因此越来越多人养下司犬了。

需要很大的生活空间

下司犬作为世界闻名的猎犬品种，它需要很大的生活空间，才能尽情的奔跑，不然下司犬就会因运动不足，导致身体虚弱。而现在很多人的房子都不是很大，根本不能满足下司犬的需求，也因为很多人想养也不敢养。

护食情况严重

很多宠主在刚开始饲养自家狗的时候，难免会遇到狗狗护食的情况，但这种情况会随着和狗狗相处时间的增加而减少。但下司犬却不一样，它非常护食，无论是谁，只要接近它的食物，它都会发怒，即便是主人也不例外，这就导致很多宠主非常头疼。

攻击性强

下司犬奔跑速度快，耐力和爆发力极强，天生就有很强的捕猎能力，是非常有希望能成为新型警犬的，但因数量极小，所以就被放弃了。而能成为警犬的狗狗，一般攻击性都是比较强，所以并不是很适合当宠物饲养

掉毛很厉害

下司犬有长短两层毛，毛质硬，手感差，而且掉毛很厉害。如果毛质比较柔软的那还好，但下司犬毛质硬，不小心飘到身上，真的很扎，而且还要经常打扫，这也是很少人养下司犬的原因。
